All About The Love You Can Give

Whether it's love for yourself, or love for the other, I believe life is always testing you to see if you can step up and love more.


For me in this season of my life, I am being asked to love someone who I used to spend everyday with in a new way. My love(once boyfriend) needs space, needs acceptance for this desire of space and with my broken heart, some moments I can give that. I am grateful for my moments of clear vision of love. Where I can see from a higher perspective with compassion. This is where I am strengthening myself, too. Instead of hate and anger for daring to want to be away from me.. So much ego in those thoughts and they hurt. When I think the loving, accepting thoughts it hits my body and mind in a soft way that doesn't cause me pain. I pray for more and more of the love thoughts in this situation. I pray for my friend's healing and his love too. Even though I am in pain over the separation.


In this season of my life, I am asked to love my family in more ways too. For some time I've been expecting them to act in ways that give to me and please me. They would always come up short and I would be mad at them. Of course I wouldn't be clear or straightforward about how I felt, what I wanted/need from them. I think that's another story for me to think about and work on. Where I am getting to is that however my mom, dad, brother and his family show up, is just fine. It's who they are, and my mission and purpose is to love them where they are.


The first part of being able to love someone or something like this, is to accept them. Notice who and what they are about, and accept it, and then offer up some compassion and love at them, no matter what's going on. That's unconditional love. That's the practice and that's what I think life is always saying.. Can you love better, deeper, stronger and more true? At least that what I think it is asking me.


Loving and accepting myself too. (Whatever that means.)
